Mr. Rex Wait is an experienced electrical engineer who possesses extensive knowledge in both large-scale project development, permitting, and industrial integration. He began his career by leading design, procurement, and construction teams for complex industrial plants, including; electric generation, cogeneration, thermal storage, fuel cell, and large central plants. His passion for control systems integration led to his founding of Control Technology, Inc. (CTI), which operates as a boutique industrial controls, engineering, and consulting firm. For more than thirty years, CTI has completed over 8,000 projects in eight different countries, under Rex’s leadership. Several of those projects received recognition, including the 1997 award for Power Plant of the Year in Renton, WA. In addition, CTI completed twelve thermal storage units in Saudi Arabia, installed more fuel cells in the U.S. than any other company, and developed as well as permitted several large-scale advanced pumped-storage power plants in California and Nevada. Mr. Wait’s highly successful development of energy projects earned Rex a reputation as one of California’s leading experts on permitting, regulatory, and incentives for energy projects. Acting as a regulatory consultant, Rex will routinely negotiate power purchase agreements, secure grants and rebates from various state regulatory agencies, and help his customers maximize the return on their energy assets.
